Cardiovascular Disease Prevention

Disease Prevention Project

NHS Lothian is participating in a Scotland-wide disease prevention project designed to help GPs identify and manage patients at risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

If you have received a text invitation, you have been randomly selected to participate. This selection is entirely random, and there are no indicators of disease in your case.

To book your appointment, please phone 0131 537 4407 and state that you wish to book a CVD appointment.

During your appointment, a healthcare provider will:

  • Take blood samples
  • Check your blood pressure
  • Measure your height and weight

Based on your results, you may need a follow-up appointment with a GP to discuss the findings. These procedures are routine and are conducted to ensure your overall health and well-being. Your participation contributes significantly to the health and well-being of our community.
