Social Media

Social Media and Online Conduct

We believe that a strong relationship between our patients and the practice team is built on mutual respect. While we fully support your right to share your experiences online, we ask that you do so responsibly. Social media can be a wonderful tool for community connection, but it is not the appropriate venue for resolving personal grievances or sharing sensitive practice information. This policy outlines our expectations for online interactions to ensure our surgery remains a safe, professional environment for both our staff and the people we care for.

Respectful Communication

Our staff work hard to provide the best possible care under significant pressure. We kindly ask that patients refrain from posting derogatory, defamatory, or offensive comments about the practice or individual team members on social networking sites.

Please be aware of the following:

  • Zero Tolerance: Posting abusive or harmful content directed at our staff may be considered a breakdown of the doctor-patient relationship.
  • Practice List Removal: In serious cases, or where the trust between the patient and the practice has been irreparably damaged, we may take steps to remove the individual from our patient list.
  • Patient Privacy: For your own safety, we advise against sharing personal medical details on public forums.

How to Raise a Concern

If you are unhappy with the service you have received, we want to hear from you directly so we can put things right. Posting on social media does not allow us to investigate your concerns or provide a formal resolution.

  • Contact Us: If you have a complaint or feedback, please contact the Practice Manager in the first instance. This allows us to follow the official NHS Scotland complaints procedure.
  • Reporting Incidents: We are grateful to patients who are proactive in reporting any online abuse or defamatory content they encounter regarding the practice. Please bring these matters to the attention of the Practice Manager.
