Clinical Research

We at our practice are committed to supporting clinical research to help improve healthcare for everyone. Clinical trials are a vital part of medicine, helping doctors and researchers understand how to better treat, prevent, or diagnose various diseases and conditions. By participating, you may benefit directly, or you may be helping patients like you in the future.

Why Participate in a Clinical Trial?

If you choose to take part in a clinical trial, you may be among the first people to receive a new treatment or intervention. This contribution is essential for the development of new medicines and better ways of providing care within NHS Scotland.

However, it is important to understand that research involves testing new ideas. There is always a possibility that the new treatment being studied turns out to be no better—or occasionally less effective—than the current standard treatment.

Your Rights and Privacy

Your participation in any research project is entirely voluntary. If you decide not to take part, or if you choose to withdraw at any stage, your standard medical care and your relationship with your GP will not be affected in any way.

We take your data privacy seriously. All research conducted through the practice complies with strict ethical standards and UK data protection laws.
